Lent - Day 16
And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. (2 Peter 2:2, ESV)
From here on, the Apostle Peter points out areas of disobedience that Christians persist in, the first being following our sensuality. Sensuality speaks of being led by our old ways, when we did not have the mind of Christ, but rather followed the desires of our flesh, whether any manner of sexual impurity, and/or all sorts of self-indulgence.
In following Jesus, the old ways and desires of our flesh must be crucified and put to death. In receiving the rescue of Jesus, we owe Him our lives and must make the decision to follow Him wholeheartedly. When we do not follow Jesus with our whole lives, then we end up completely mis-representing Jesus.
There is only one way to follow Jesus and that is all the way. If you have not been following Jesus completely surrendered then repent and let today be the day of salvation.
