Lent - Day 15

But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.  (2 Peter 2:1, ESV)

As maturing believers, it is so important for us to intimately know Jesus: His voice, His heart, His mind, and His words. That’s why having the Holy Spirit is crucial because the Holy Spirit not only teaches us, but also brings to mind all that we have been taught.

We are in the last days and as such, there will be false prophets and false teachers, who will tickle our ears and prophecy peace when there is no peace, and teach us to fall into spiritual slumber when in fact we need to be awake and alert. Walking with Jesus requires us to have a personal relationship with Him as well as corporate relationship and this necessitates a sensitivity and surrender to Jesus.

We must put to death our fleshly desires and inclinations in particular the tendency to be our own god, making our own decisions and doing as we please and as we see fit. Jesus is our Lord, Master, and Teacher. The call is to follow Him.

Will you follow Jesus today and everyday?
