Lent - Day 21
7 and if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked 8 (for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, he was tormenting his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard); 9 then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, (2 Peter 2:7–9, ESV)
The Lord punishes the wicked and rescues the righteous. The wonderful news of the cross is that Jesus has rescued us and purchased us from the kingdom of darkness with His own blood and brought us into His kingdom of light.
Though we are sinners saved by grace we no longer live as we did when we were still sinners. In Jesus, we have become a new creation where the Spirit of the Living God resides in each of us and we have been made righteous so that we may live righteously.
We are called to put aside falsehood and our old ways and conform to the very image of Christ. Although this is an impossible task for us, all things are possible for God. In our struggles and needs, all we need to do is cry out to Him and ask Him to help us.
Know that you are not alone and that God who created universe is with you and desires to draw you closer to Him.
