Lent - Day 26
This is now the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved. In both of them I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, (2 Peter 3:1, ESV)
One of the big challenges of living faithfully as a believer is that we tend to forget or we are often easily distracted by the things of this life. It is too often that we get spiritual amnesia. We forget our identity in Christ, and we forget what a mighty God we serve.
But we need regular reminders that stir up our sincere mind and we need to get to that point where we are always operating out of our sincere mind rather than our shallow carnal mind. As new creation, we need to adopt new habits, new outlook on life, new vision, new hopes, new desires, and new attitude. We need to live a brand new life as a follower of Jesus.
We cannot stay in the tax collector booth and “follow” Jesus. Just like Matthew we have to leave the booth behind and leave behind the old life and walk in obedience to Jesus. Stir up your sincere mind today and walk in complete obedience to Jesus.
