Lent Devotional - Day 3

Read John 2:1-12

Jesus’ first miracle: turning water into wine. Jesus takes something ordinary and transforms it into something extraordinary. This is something that he loves to do and it is seen even in our own lives. When we fully surrender our lives to Jesus, he is able to do great work in us.

What an amazing grace…to receive us as the creepy crawly caterpillars we are and then to metamorphosize us into a beautiful butterfly.

Another thing about Jesus, he’s the kind of God that brings booze to a party; not just a sensible bottle of wine or two, but about 153 bottles of wine. God is the God of abundance and plenty. When God blesses, he really blesses and this wedding was blessed.

When we hold nothing back from Jesus, he cause this kind of blessing. Jesus’ mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” We get to truly experience the fullness of God’s love and power when we fully obey Jesus and give him access to our whole lives… so do whatever he tells you.
